Champage Saturday~In a Hurry
Yea, It is Champagne Saturday!!! But if you are like me, you are short on time, right now. This is an easy way to host a little front porch get together, if you plan ahead.
This is easy if you keep an assortment of beverages on hand. You can join a wine club, such as Wine-Shop-at Home, pictured above, or TCV. You should choose a vinter that you like before joining their club. Or. just order from your wine girl,(I also do that) just remember that a 21 year old adult or older has to be present to sign for the shipment.
Wine-Shop-at-Home recommends that a minimum of 12 bottles of assorted wines are kept for entertaining. Depending on the time of year, and how much you entertain, you might need to increase that amount. The holidays and summer are my time to keep extra beverages. I keep wine, liquor, beer, and mixers. Remember to keep non alcoholic drinks as well, Bottles of juice and water store very well.
The next thing to have on hand is an assortment of unopened cheese. Cheese keeps well, when left in the package. Think about the types of foods your friends enjoy. Unless it is a tasting, I do not recommend offering strange or new items.
Crackers store well and a quick trip to the grocery store for ice and a baguette helps. Now you are just about set. You could also pick up some fruit that is is season, or if you can and preserve , offer a jam or jelly that you have on hand.
Place on the table with napkins, glasses and serving pieces. Now you can sit back and relax.
To contact Debbie Robinson,I email her at drwinealittle2@gmail.com. She makes it very convenient to have wine on hand and Wine-Shop-at-Home offers an assortment of seasonal wines that are ready to drink. She will also come do tasting parties for you, but I can not stress enough that these are parties to purchase wine.
Enjoy!
