This post goes hand in hand with that recipe. It is about great coffee.
Yes, it really is this beautiful |
First he roasts his own beans, so his shop smells lovely when entering. Then he has a selection of interesting contraptions on view, some great bakery items from a local bakery, and coffee music playing.
I usually get his Cuban Coffee, but I have to purchase 2 because it only is available in one size and one just is not enough. I have purchased whole roasted beans and the Big Mountain Coffee brews up just as wonderful in Texas as is does in Oregon.
To make a good pot of Coffee, you will need to have water that has not been run through a water heater. I would say cool water, but if you ran it through the water heater and then let it cool down, you would still get the water heater taste. For each cup of coffee you make, use 1 Tablespoon of a Good Fresh Ground Coffee, such as Big Mountain Coffee. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for the actual use of the Coffee Maker.
If you are not going to the Oregon Coast in the near future, you can still visit Brent, the Bearista, at http://www.bigmountaincoffees.com/. He will be happy to ship your order out via the US Postal Service.
Make a big pot of Coffee and go sit out on the porch!
