Deer Camp Beer and Amaretto Doughnuts

Okay, most deer camps have plenty of beer but they do not usually have amaretto, so you'll just have to cart it in.  You can mix the flour and sugar up, take a small bottle of amaretto and head out to the lease.  Most of the hunters I know come into camp during the middle of the day, so you can have these ready.  If you have any amaretto left, pour a shot into your beer with a little rum and it will taste like a Dr.Pepper. No kidding.

In a large frying pan heat oil or shortening to 325.

Mix together and sift into a large bowl
1 cup Flour
1/2 cup Corn Starch
1 teaspoon Baking Powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon Baking Soda
1/2 cup of Sugar

Add 1/4 cup Amaretto and 1/2 cup Beer.  Mix and drop by Tablespoons into hot oil.  Fry until golden brown and cook through.    Try to keep the dough flat and not round.  This helps them to fry done without burning. Serve as is or with Powdered Sugar. Yum!

Enjoy!
